Everytime I go…I am just overwhelmed at the locations for shooting. In Grand Rapids…we do have some good spots..but everyone is using the same spots….because they’re aren’t that many….you all know that alley behind San Chez…that you see on everyones websites..I haven’t used that in a while just out of spite. This is Joe & Kristen…. they live in an amazing place with three levels, a rooftop patio with a view of the city, and adorable bulldog. **bunny trail** My husband and I have already decided when all the kids are gone, we’re moving to a big city before they all demand we have a kid proof house with a giant back yard and a blow up pool! Don’t get me wrong, I love being out in the country and quite and relaxation, but being in the city ~ it energizes me ~ nevermind the visual stimulation. **end of bunny trail** These two were so much fun…as you can see below, and are really in love with each other….and aren’t afraid to make out - awesome! They even took me out to dinner afterwards..which was fabulous - the head chef used to cater for Madonna - impressive…and really had time to talk. It was fabulous and wish I could get to know all my couples this well. Thanks again for reminding me how much I love the windy city….and would love to work there more. This has been great weather for sessions….it was perfectly cloudy this day, and made for great lighting. I love the old bus station we found downtown…I wish I could buy it…it was great for pics. These two first saw my work at Justin & Jill’s wedding. Enjoy your preview and I can’t wait to shoot your wedding next year!

Trying to get a few more portrait sessions up here…Ashley needed some head shots for her business, and also wanted some pics with her hubby and their beautiful dog! Here are a few of my favorites. Next up…some random senior boys, I got roped into shooting…and studio lighting too….what is happening to me?! **No plans to do any of that permanently!

**totally forgot to add….as we were walking into this field of purple beauty…it was swarming with bumble bees…jokingly I said “you’re not allergic, right?” she said “yes” ….we didn’t shoot there long…but the fact that she was going without telling me…one brave lady!

This session was a while ago…..but Alison gave me some extra time…because my schedule is insane! Thanks for that! I am shooting their wedding in Punta Cana!!! in October….which I am extremely excited about…can you tell?!!! We shot their engagement session in the Founders Brewery and around there….Joel likes to brew beer and it seemed fitting..nice choice. The rest of your gallery will be up shortly. Enjoy the preview!

I’ve had a fireman…now a police officer…who I was driving around downtown! Then Kelly told me Joe wasn’t that good of a driver, so I felt a little better! I also “misplaced” an expensive lens during this session…which they helped me backtrack to find…..in the very spot where we started the search…..yes, 3 children have definitely fried my brain, and what Joe didn’t know is he would be getting his detective training from me! Here are a few of my favorites from their session. I enjoyed driving around with you guys!

Here is another of the 5 engagements that I did that one week…and there are still 2 more I have yet to blog! Be patient!! This session was done in East GR at reeds lake and in gaslight village…the lighting at the end of the session ( the one of them standing together) just in front of the lake…was to die for…..you guys did a great job!
